Salary: £19,815 (reviewed in line with London Living Wage)

What you’ll need:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s A*- C or Grade 4 and above including Maths and English language (or equivalent)
- To be 18 years by January 2022

As a part of our fast-paced Technology & Data teams you’ll learn the skills required to support the teams that keep London Moving. Our Technology Service Operations teamwork across a range of technologies from coding languages such as python Csharp abap and lots of other exciting software. We use technology to improve the journeys of our customers, maximise the efficiency of our network and to extract insight from our data to enable us to make key business decisions.
We are always looking for ways to improve the service that we deliver to our customers. Whether that’s giving our frontline staff I Pads and building them apps to manage their daily tasks to enabling Wi-Fi on our stations for the public to stay connected whilst they travel. Every single development and journey really does matter.
One of TfL’s six priorities is exploiting technology to produce better and faster results. Technology and Data (T&D) will consistently provide cost effective, reliable, secure and innovative technology and data services.
What will I be doing?
As an apprentice, your 2-year development programme will be made up of six or more placement rotations, for example:
- Asset Management
- Digital Analytics
- Professional Services
There is flexibility for apprentices to tailor their scheme to their interests ensuring placements are taken within the Professional Services and LU & Rail teams. We are aware that some apprentices start with, or develop during their placements, an interest to a technology area and we want to ensure you get the most from your apprenticeship with TfL.
Where can this career take me?
Upon successful completion of this scheme, you could roll-off into Application Engineer, Service Analyst and DevOps Junior Engineers which could lead to further career development opportunities such as DevOps Engineer roles, Second and Third Line Support Analysts and SAP Analysts to ultimately Senior Application Engineers and beyond.
